Expanding our personalized approach to meet our patients’ needs

Pappas Health Primary Care Plus Service

Although the practice has more of a focus on consultative services, we do also offer an optional primary care service for those who would like Pappas Health to occupy a larger role in their healthcare team.

In this way, we can maintain our personalized approach to meet our patients’ needs in lieu of another primary or general doctor, or in concert with their existing physicians, should they choose to maintain their existing doctor-patient relationships.

While we can assist with most requests that would be typically handled at a primary care physician’s office, we do not offer some of the standard procedures available at primary care or urgent care offices, such as immunizations or rapid testing. Our Primary Care Plus service includes the following:

Prescription Management

Our office can take over most maintenance prescriptions that are usually managed by specialist physicians. We only require an in-person consultation at least once annually for most medications. Dose changes and new prescriptions may require periodic blood testing here in the office.

Imaging

We can order routine imaging for Mammograms, DEXA scans, ultrasounds, etc. Any ad-hoc imaging requests for x-rays, CT scans, etc. can be written but may require an appointment to establish medical necessity for insurance.

Orders/Referrals

Specialist offices that require referrals in order to be seen or have tests performed, such as Physical Therapy or sleep medicine, etc. are handled quickly. Ongoing plan of care documents are also managed as needed.

Sick Visits

We will be able to treat for "one-off" issues like viral flu, sinus infection, pneumonia, etc. Treatment of some symptoms may require a telemedicine consultation with the office.

Coordination of Care

The office will be the “hub” of all medical records from any part of a patient’s care team. Patients can sign a release of records document to have their records distributed free of charge as needed for life insurance, specialist offices, etc.

Letters

The office will complete forms and write letters to external entities as needed for situations such as travel accommodation, life insurance, MD statements, etc. free of charge.

The services listed above are the most common services we provide here in the office to our patients enrolled in Primary Care Plus. There are other, less common services we would be happy to assist you with as needed.
